Come to watch films you’ve never heard of—or the ones
you’ve always heard of but never watched.
The Motion Picture Club is a community within Lawrence University dedicated
to film curation and appreciation. We host weekly screenings, discussions
in the on-campus cinema, and a wide range of cinema-related events for the
Lawrence community.
It was founded in 2024 by freshmen Gabriel Garcia and Fizzy Williams,
with the goal of expanding cinema appreciation within Lawrence University.
Founded in 2025, the LU Motion Picture Film Festival gives students the opportunity to gain experience participating in a professional-style film festival environment.
Student filmmakers from any school are invited to submit their work.
Submit Your FilmThis year’s festival will be streamed live for those unable to attend in person.
